About Christmas at the Athenaeum 2022
The Athenaeum is 225 year-old private members club, founded in 1797 by prominent Liverpudlians of the day. Today’s Proprietors comprise of all walks of life and include clerics, lawyers, doctors, and accountants, members of the armed forces, academics, commercial people, and many others. The heart of the Athenaeum is undoubtedly its library. This is one of the greatest proprietary libraries in the UK, containing rare treasures and incredibly valuable books.
The Christmas at the Athenaeum 2022 Story
Artsgroupie CIC, and The Athenaeum, have teamed up for a special celebration of traditional festive entertainment. For those who enjoy that nostalgic Christmas-feeling, the public are invited to a unique festive event to mark the beginning of December and the Yuletide celebrations.
A unique evening of recreation in the historical surroundings of The Athenaeum, a 225 year-old private members club, founded in 1797 by prominent Liverpudlians of the day. Feelings of festivity couldn’t be more heightened than in this setting of Roaring Twenties aesthetics at 12-18 Church Alley.
The team will present a personally selected collection of well-known poems, stories and carols to share, a cornucopia of festive joy.
Those with Scrooge-like tendencies are encouraged to stay at home
